Feralco’s strategy is to grow the business in a sustainable way by continuously offering innovative and adaptable water treatment solutions. To achieve this, we are committed to a series of operating principles, which ensure that our business activities are conducted responsibly for the benefit of customers, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders.
By adopting an ambitious ESG framework, we aim to make our employees, suppliers and local communities part of our success by working with them in every way we can. Besides improving our performance and meeting all relevant legislation, we are committed to proactively improving our CSR strategy and taking social and environmental responsibility in all aspects of our organisation and business operations. Thus, we encourage our employees to remain mindful of the impact their actions may have on natural resources as well as inspiring our business partners to strive for similar levels of environmental responsibility.
Environmental
Regarding our environmental responsibility, we have outlined our endeavour to reduce our impact on the environment through a commitment to continual improvement. In our ambition to reduce our environmental impact, we do assess all aspects of our operations including production, and the use and disposal associated with the main materials we use. Additionally, we continuously work with our vendors to reduce their impact on the environment.
Concerning our own industrial processes and management systems, our operations are conducted to a standard compliant with ISO 14001 & IPPC to reduce our company’s environmental impact and to prevent pollution.
Social
We are committed to fulfilling our social responsibility within our organisation and broader business community. We support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights. This includes encouraging our suppliers to comply with international human rights standards. By extension, we have a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking and expect everyone in our supply chain to comply with our values. Thus, we take the necessary practical steps, including factory and warehouse inspections and audits, to ensure that our standards are implemented throughout our suppliers' businesses. In addition, we provide training to relevant employees to ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains.
Concerning our equality and diversity framework, we aim to eradicate all forms of discrimination and promote equality of opportunity in the supply chain. As part of this effort, we work to ensure a collaborative atmosphere where customers and vendors can work together in confidence, grounded in mutual respect.
Governance
In terms of corporate governance, we are committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations as well as ensuring that our business is conducted in all respects according to ethical, professional and industry standards. Moreover, our policies are centred on fostering business relationships that are built on fairness, openness and mutual respect. In this regard, we actively seek feedback on our performance from our customers and vendors to continuously review and improve our partnerships and activities.
As outlined in our code of conduct, we believe that a responsible approach to developing relationships between companies and the communities they serve is a vital part of delivering sustained business success. When carrying out our business, in consultation with our customers, we are continually evaluating the related environmental, social and economic issues. Moreover, we continually review our policies and business practices to encourage engagement with small and medium enterprises and to promote the development of the regional supply chain.
